While it’s rooted in ancient traditions such as Pranayama in Yoga, breathwork has also gained modern traction for its accessibility and scientifically backed benefits.

Unlike some lengthy wellness routines, breathwork requires no special equipment or a significant time commitment, which makes it a practical solution for even the busiest of entrepreneurs.

The physiological impact of breathwork is profound. By engaging in slow, intentional breathing practices, individuals can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is often referred to as the “rest and digest” system. 3 breathwork techniques to try


If you’re new to breathwork, here are three simple practices to incorporate into your daily routine.

Box breathing

Inhale for four counts, hold for four counts, exhale for four counts, and hold again for four counts. Repeat these steps for two to three minutes to reset your mind.

4-7-8 breathing

Inhale for four counts, hold for seven counts, and exhale for eight counts. This technique is particularly effective for reducing anxiety and promoting relaxation.

Resonance breathing

Breathe in for 5.5 seconds and out for 5.5 seconds. According to Kristina Maier-Sam and other researchers, this steady rhythm enhances HRV and balances the nervous system.

Breathwork as a long-term practice


Incorporating breathwork into your daily routine is more than a quick fix; it’s a long-term investment in your personal and professional growth. You don’t even have to commit to hour-long sessions, as just 10 minutes a day will make a profound difference.
